(Business in Cameroon) - The 2019 Quality of Living City Ranking recently unveiled by Mercer cabinet put Yaoundé and Douala, Cameroon’s two biggest cities, at respectively the 25th and 26th positions in Africa.
The two cities maintain the same positions as in 2018 on a list of 231 cities worldwide. The ranking, let’s note, is based on 39 criteria including the socio-cultural, political and social environment; medical and health models; schools and education; public services; transport; urban infrastructure; leisure; consumer goods; housing and the environment.
In Africa, Port Louis (83rd in the world), the Mauritian capital, remains the top city, followed by Durban in South Africa (ranked 88th in the world). Cape Town and Johannesburg, also in South Africa, ranked 95th and 96th respectively in the world, are respectively 3rd and 4th on the continent.
