(Business in Cameroon) - Yaoundé, the Cameroonian capital, is regularly faced with water shortages due to disruptions at the Akomnyada water station, the city's main water supplier. The problem was highlighted in a recent report issued by the national water utility, Camwater.

To put an end to this issue, Gervais Bolenga (pictured), the Managing Director of Camwater, was asked during a recent board meeting to take “urgent measures” to ensure the good quality of water at the station. The MD is also expected to guarantee the sustainable availability of water treatment products not only at the Akomnyada plant but at all Camwater stations.

Let’s note that the Treasury has invested about CFA4 billion in the rehabilitation and expansion of the Akomnyada plant since 2017, according to official data.
