“(Business in Cameroon) - No more never-ending queues and long hours in transports. With MTN Mobile Money, you can now send money to 25 African countries from your MTN Mobile Money”. This is the message shared for some days now by the Cameroonian subsidiary of the South African telecoms giant MTN.

This strong offensive from the telecoms operator in the Mobile Money sector targets countries such as Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, etc. MTN even planned cases of continental money transfers where the recipient does not have a mobile money account. All that is needed is to enter the name and surname of the recipient, and the amount sent to validate the transaction.

With the possibility of sending money to 25 African countries, MTN Cameroon takes a comfortable hold in a market segment where it has a renowned partner: British WorldRemit. The partnership signed by both in October 2016 created a new network with more than 2.6 million MTN Mobile Money subscribers in Cameroon.
