(Business in Cameroon) - On May 21, 2018, the Belgian Vsat service provider SatADSL and CAMTEL announced that they have concluded a partnership agreement which should allow the public company to enter the internet distribution market.
According to the official statement published in that regard, a pilot phase has been conducted during which SatADSL’s solutions had been tested in public and private companies and communities such as banks, schools and post offices.
“As an organization that strives to bridge the digital divide in Africa, we are delighted to partner with Camtel to blanket Cameroon with much-needed connectivity. Our innovative C-SDP also means Camtel will be able to offer highly competitive packages for a range of end-users.”, said Caroline De Vos, founder and operations manager at SatADSL.
According to Camtel, this partnership will allow them to deploy internet in rural zones which are not served by the other operators. It will also help offer access to a “complete OSS/BSS, carrier-grade, fully redundant platform which allows operators to easily outsource satellite services, reducing the cost of providing ubiquitous connectivity by enabling fast, flexible and future-proof satellite connectivity via the cloud for the first time, eliminating the need for physical infrastructure”.
