(Business in Cameroon) - In the first four months of 2019, Cameroon exported $329.8 million (about XAF193 billion) of goods to China.

According to these figures revealed by Chinese customs, these exports represent a 49% year to year rise compared with the $221.2 million of goods exported to China in January-April 2018.

Overall, Cameroon’s exports to China have been increasing since 2018. That year, the exports surged to reach $1.095 billion. This was a substantial rise compared with the $556.3 million of goods exported to China in 2017.

This rise was likely due to the commissioning of floating LNG unit Hilli Episeyo. This unit became operational in March 2018 and delivered its first load of LNG to PetroChina on June 14, 2018.

According to national hydrocarbons company SNH, by September 30, 2018, Cameroon had exported seven loads of LNG (four to India, two to China and one to Taiwan).
