According to statistics revealed by the National Port Authority (APN), activities within this port, which manages 99.85% of the country’s traffic, were once again dominated by imports.

According to official figures, these imports increased by 3.1% in 2015, to 8.4 million tons; against an increase of 7.1% for exports, which peaked at 2.9 million tons.

In detail, we learn, Cameroonian imports last year were largely dominated by hydrocarbons. The country, whose refinery does not work on the crude oil locally, imported 1.2 million tons of hydrocarbons in 2015. This is followed by cement (556,827 tons), clinker (1.3 million tons), rice (729,822 tons) and hardware store products (789,292 tons).

For exports, according to the same source, they were dominated by wood logs, of which 938,455 tons were exported during 2015. At the same time, the quantities of sawed wood exported peaked at 962,219 tons, against 279,493 tons of bananas, 266,561 tons of cocoa and 173,067 tons of cotton.
