(Business in Cameroon) - Over the first nine months this year, Cameroonian wood veneer's exports towards the European Union rose by 30% to 14,200 tons, the international tropical timber organization (ITTO) reported.
Yet, the international body said, EU’s tropical veneer imports fell by 6% to 103,800 tons over the period reviewed, primarily driven by a 17% drop in imports from Gabon (45,000 tons).
Cameroon thus achieved the strongest performance in tropical veneer exports, ahead of Côte d’Ivoire (+14% to 22,700 tons) while Congolese and Ghanaian exports stabilized at 7,800 tons and 4,000 tons respectively, over the period.
