Cameroon listed among top 5 largest timber suppliers to China, in Q1 2018 (ITTO)

(Business in Cameroon) - During the first quarter this year, Cameroon accounted for 2% of China’s total sawn wood import, making it the country’s 5th largest supplier during the period, the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) revealed. 

In detail, the top five include, in addition to Cameroon, Thailand (72%), Gabon (7%), Malaysia (4%), and the Philippines (4%). These countries accounted for 90% of the Middle Kingdom's sawn timber imports over the period.

Let’s note that during the period, China imported 7% more wood compared to the same period last year.
