COBAC Confirms SME Bank Pioneer Top Management

(Business in Cameroon) - The constable of banking in the Central African region (COBAC) in a meeting held in Libreville, Gabon on June 18, 2013 validated the names Cameroon submitted for the posts of Chairman of the Board and General Manager of the recently created Small and Medium Size Enterprises Bank.

Paul Elung Che, 45, Current General Manager of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund, CSPH and Agnes Ndoumbe Mandeng, the Director of Finance and Monetary Cooperation in the Ministry of Finance were confirmed as Board Chairperson and General Manager respectively, an English Language weekly, The Median of July 9, 2013 reported.

Lone shareholder of the bank, the State of Cameroon designated them at an extraordinary board last March 21st and then submitted this proposal to COBAC. However, a presidential decree on their appointment is still awaited.  

Both nominees have served as commissioners of COBAC, and graduated as treasury inspectors from the National School of Magistracy and Administration, Enam.
