(Business in Cameroon) - Cameroon’s national television announced that foreign and local gold miners have been storming Eséka, a district in central Cameroon since three months. This is due to the discovery of four gold mines in the locality.

Local sources estimated that one thousand artisanal miners invaded the mines.

Due to this unregulated mining, local authorities took some measures to prohibit artisanal mining and encourage the public to form Common Initiative Groups for an efficient mining.
