A delegation of the Association of Mayors of Senegal has just made a visit to Yaoundé, the Cameroonian capital, where they studied the management mechanisms of the Fonds spécial d’équipement et d’intervention intercommunal (Feicom - Special Intercommunity Equipment and Intervention Fund), the local authorities' bank in Cameroon.

The explanations given to the Senegalese delegation will be reiterated, we learn, during the Symposium on Innovation in local authorities' financing, which will take place in Dakar, the Senegalese capital from 22 to 23 March 2016. The Cameroonian local authorities' bank will take part in this conference, Philippe Camille Akoa, MD of Feicom, assured.

As a reminder, Feicom is a public institution in charge of collecting and centralising monies from the local authorities, which it then returns to them as financing for projects submitted by the said authorities. In addition to community projects, Feicom also helps local authorities to buy shares in some industrial projects.
