Norway wants to intensify economic cooperation with Cameroon, by opening a consulate in Douala

(Business in Cameroon) - The Cameroonian government just approved the appointment to Douala, the economic capital of the country, of Mohamed Abdoulaye Diop as Honorary Consul of Norway in Cameroon, we learned from authorised sources. The opening of a Norwegian Consulate in Cameroon should help intensify exchanges between the two countries, whose economic cooperation is rather timid. Indeed, this Nordic country does not appear on the list of Cameroon's main partners.

Incidentally, in addition to the Norwegian actions in the education and health sectors, particularly in Northern Cameroon, the Cameroonian government signed in January 2017 a credit agreement of FCfa 37.8 billion with the Norwegian bank Giek, to finance drinking water supply projects in the country.
