(Business in Cameroon) - Since their entry into force on 4 August 2016, the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) between Cameroon and the European Union have already brought satisfaction to more than 200 Cameroonian economic operators, we learned after the last meeting of the monitoring and implementation committee of the EPA Cameroon-EU.

"To date, more than 200 operators have benefited from the preferential treatment of the European Union relating to merchandise of more than FCfa 25 billion. Furthermore, more than 100 customs agents are involved in this operation", explained Norbert Belinga, member representing the general management of Customs  within the committee.

According to the statistics of the same committee, in 10 months of application of the EPA, the Cameroonian customs department lost some FCfa 600 million in revenues. Losses that should increase from 4 August 2017, with the entry into force of dismantling of customs barriers on a 2nd group of products imported from the EU.
