(Business in Cameroon) - According to the latest toll of recent Hadj disaster revealed by Cameroon’s general Consul in Djeddah, Issa Oumarou, 42 Cameroonian pilgrims were killed and 55 are still missing. The Hadj stampede occurred in Mina near the Mecca on September 24, 2015.
This new toll is quite heavier than the earlier reported by Cameroonian Minister for Territorial Administration, René Sadi, on 25 September 2015, which numbered 21 dead Cameroonian pilgrims.
769 people died during the stampede which saddened many but angered others such as Iran and Turkey who openly blamed Saudi Arabia to have poorly organized the pilgrimage.
