(Business in Cameroon) - Construction works to rehabilitate the road connecting Bafoussam in Cameroon’s West to Bamenda in the North-West have been launched by government-selected companies which are heading the project. Works began in Babadjou, where the road above mentioned is completely degraded.

In facts, few weeks ago, in sight of degradation state on the Bafoussam-Bamenda road, traffic had been briefly interrupted by local authorities. However, government announced at the time, the disbursement of 2 billion FCFA to prevent a complete chocking of the traffic. This sum was to be used on the most pressing issues related to the road, with its rehabilitation as the most sustainable solution.

To complete rehabilitation works on the 370 km-long Bamenda-Bafoussam road, rehabilitation that cost around 145 billion FCFA, the Cameroonian government is presently sealing various deals with funding partners such as ADB and World Bank.
