(Business in Cameroon) - Cameroonian Minister for territorial administration and decentralization, but also chairman of National Hadj Commission, René Emmanuel Sadi, announced on 25 September 2015 the death of 21 Cameroonian pilgrims during “the stampede disaster which occurred on 24 September in Mina, near the Mecca, Saudi Arabia”.

The state release added that, out of the missing Cameroonian for which search had been launched, 123 were found and taken under the care of the official Cameroonian delegation and the central African country’s embassy in Djeddah.

The recent stampede killed 769 pilgrims. And despite saddening many, the disaster angered countries such as Iran and Turkey who blame Saudi Arabian authorities to have poorly organized the international event.
