(Business in Cameroon) - In a press release co-signed on April 29, 2014 by the Executive Secretary of the MTN Cameroon Foundation and the Cameroon Ministry of Secondary Education, the MTN Foundation announced the launch of the best teacher competition for those who use ICT.

According to the press release, in each of the nation’s ten regions, the prize will reward, “the teacher who distinguishes him/herself in the 2013-2014 academic year by way of his or her contribution to the improvement of learning by introducing ICTs in teaching techniques and methodology.” The type of reward is yet to be specified.

The competition is open to secondary school teachers at public and private institutions. They may enter the competition free of cost by downloading the form on the competition’s website (www.mtnfoundation.cm/concours) or the Ministry of Secondary Education at (www.minesec.gov.cm/). Application forms must be filled out and returned by the same channels no later than May 31, 2014.

For several years, as a part of its effort to spread ICT usage, the MTN Foundation has been providing Cameroonian secondary schools with fully-equipped multimedia centres. According to recent indications by the foundation, 60,000 secondary school students and 4,000 teachers in Cameroon have already engaged information and communication technology.
