(Business in Cameroon) - Cameroonian Parliament is passing in coming days a framework law on food security. After the National Assembly, the Senate has been examining this text since November 13, we learnt.

The law, as presented, “aims to lay down regulatory principles and foundations for food, feedstuffs for human consumption as well as food additives and supplements, to ensure higher protection of consumers’ life, health and environment” in Cameroon.

Specifically, the government plans through this law to comply with international food safety standards, as defined by the WHO, FAO, WTO and the World Organization for Animal Health.
