(Business in Cameroon) - French firm Carrefour has just launched the construction of its second shop in Cameroon. The building is located in front of the Multipurpose Sports Palace in Yaoundé.

Earthwork is currently ongoing on the site. Funds for this project valued at XAF30 billion will be provided by Carrefour and its partner CFAO, according to official forecasts.

Let’s note that the company already opened a first shop in December 2017 in the Bonamoussadi district of Douala and another is soon going to be opened in the “Douala Grand Mall & Business Park”; a huge 18,000 m2 store currently under construction by the British investment fund Actis.

Carrefour Market will offer an exclusive range of Carrefour-branded products, quality fresh products and more than 1,500 references made in Cameroon,” said Luc Demez, MD of CFAO Retail in Cameroon, during the opening of the Douala supermarket in December 2017.
