(Business in Cameroon) - This month, a dozen vessels will berth at Kribi Deepwater port which was officially commissioned on March 2, 2018, good sources revealed.

During the commissioning, a 335-meters long ship transporting 8,500 containers accosted at the largest port in Cameroon and along the West African coast.

The port hosts a container terminal operated by KCT group and a multipurpose terminal for which Cameroon is looking for an operator. Indeed, the first company to be awarded the operating contract (NECOTRANS) was declared bankrupt in January 2018 due to financial difficulties which forced it to sell some of its assets in France and in Africa.
