(Business in Cameroon) - The Cameroon government has just hired the Studi International, Cenor and ECTA BTP technical study firms to oversee the construction of the Yaoundé-Nsimalen highway’s “rural” section that runs some 10.6 km for 2 billion FCfa.

This appointment completes the team of construction companies for this section of the highway that will connect the Cameroonian capital to Nsimalen’s international airport.

The roadwork initially scheduled for early 2013 will now be completed in thirty-six months by the Chinese company, China Communications construction Company Ltd for 36.7 billion FCfa.

Construction for the urban section of this highway, which is also 10 km long, was already assigned to three companies: Synohydro (5.8 km) of China Road and Bridge Corporation (1.9 km) and Arab Contractors (2.1km). All that’s left to determine now is who will monitor the roadwork.

A total of 20 km in length, the Yaoundé-Nsimalen highway will have an overall price tag of 154 billion FCfa.
