(Business in Cameroon) - During the first eight months this year, Cameroon shipped 135,491 cubic meters of timber towards the port of Zhangjiagang, in China, the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) said in its latest economic outlook report, citing Chinese customs sources.

The money collected from this transaction is valued at $47.3 million dollars, just over CFA27 billion, the report said. According to Chinese customs, Cameroon was the 4th largest exporter of timber to China, over the period reviewed, behind Papua New Guinea (1.51 million m3), the Solomon Islands (1.07 million m3) and Equatorial Guinea.
