(Business in Cameroon) - EU imports from Cameroon have been extremely volatile in recent times, with the overall trend downward. However, there was a slight uptick in imports from Cameroon at the start of 2019,” according to the ITTO Tropical Timber Market (TTM) Report issued May 15.

In fact, there is a growing demand for Cameroonian wood in China and conditions on this market are more loose compared to the European market, governed by stringent Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and trade -FLEGT- facility.

Let’s recall that log exports to the EU broadly rose last year except for shipments from Cameroon and the Equatorial Guinea which slid 6% and 21%, respectively.
