(Business in Cameroon) - Cameroon’s power utility Eneo started since February 7 in Douala the implementation of its partnership agreement with Cameroon Housing Company -SIC- regarding the modernization and securing of electric facilities in the new and old SIC housings.

The process aims to comply SIC’s housing projects with new standards of power installations. It also targets “the migration towards prepaid meters in SIC’s building “. “What should be known is that once the prepaid meter is installed, the power consumption will be the same as for phones. Before consuming, you first have to charge making possible for citizens to save energy more effectively. If a citizen buys a 100 KWh card, for example, they will control their consumption. When they leave home, they can deactivate if they wish, and the power is cut for that time,” explains Eneo's MD Joël Nana Kontchou (photo).

According to Eneo, this partnership with SIC is part of the fulfilment of the commitments made by the company, within the framework of the 3rd amendment to its concession contract, signed in November 2018 with the State of Cameroon.
