(Business in Cameroon) - During his three-day visit in Cameroon, Moussa Faki Mahamat (photo), president of the African Union Commision met with the Cameroonian president Paul Biya on July 13, 2018, in Yaoundé.

The president of the African Union commission expressed in clear terms the continental organization’s support for the unity and stability of Cameroon which is a major country in the continent”, Cameroon’s presidency indicated. This statement is in line with one of the goals of the representatives’ visit in Cameroon : the sociopolitical protests, which have now turned secessionist, actually ongoing in the Anglophone regions (Northwest and Southwest).

Moussa Faki Mahamat hinted that once in Addis Ababa, the African Union’s headquarters, he will devise an initiative to submit to the Cameroonian government to help it face the actual situation.

He also invited the political actors and the civil society to strive for a successful organization of the coming presidential election. In that regard, Moussa Faki Mahamat announced that the African Union will send observers.
