CAA transfers its DSX-listed data to BEAC, the new regional exchange’s custodian

(Business in Cameroon) - Richard Obam Evina, former managing director of autonomous amortization fund, informs that on July 12, 2019, all data related to DSX-listed securities it was keeping was transferred to the bank of Central African states BEAC.

In that regard Obam Evina indicates, this data transfer ends the transactions’ settlements it used to carry out in coordination with Société Générale’s local subsidiary. Henceforth, all the parties whose securities are listed on the Douala stock exchange are invited to reach out to BEAC for securities-related operations that were formerly carried out by the amortization fund.

This data transfer is being carried out because of the unified stock exchange decided by heads of CEMAC countries on February 19, 2018. Since June 30, 2019, the region was expecting that exchange. Even though there are delays in the execution of the process, a new configuration of the regional market has materialized. There is now a single regulator based in Libreville (Gabon) and the unified exchange’s headquarters is in Douala (Cameroon).
