(Business in Cameroon) - 2012 financial year figures revealed fluctuations in the tollgate revenue and no subsidies from public services (health, judiciary, etc) in Libialem division, South West region of the country. It has emerged during the fourth quarter coordination meeting of treasury accountants of the southwest financial jurisdiction on January 13, 2012.

The Treasury Paymaster General (TPG), Ayuk Peter remarked that income from these stations is plummeting and an investigation was inescapable. “Without mentioning the very surprising fluctuating figures coming from the toll gates and weighing stations. The unexplainable drops in some of these stations will also constitute an area of verification by the recovery brigade within the 2013 financial year,” Mr Ayuk declared during the stock-taking meeting.

In the same year no income from public services was forwarded to the treasury in Buea (regional capital of the region), from Libialem since January 2012. “It cannot be said that services attached to the ministry of justice and health did not produce a single franc,” Mr Ayuk told Chiefs of services and heads of treasury stations. A control brigade will be dispatched to the division before the end of January 2013.
