(Business in Cameroon) - Since 1 March 2016, airlines operating in Cameroon have suspended their flights to and from Douala, the economic capital, due to the temporary closing of the city's international airport, which is the main gateway to the country.

All flights have been rescheduled to depart from the Yaoundé-Nsimalen international airport, located in the suburbs of the Cameroonian capital. According to our sources, over one hundred agents working at the Douala airport were temporarily moved to Yaoundé, in order to cope with the increase in activity in this platform generally less attended than Douala.

The Douala international airport will only be reopened after 21 March, allowing   for the necessary time to do the maintenance work on the landing strips and parking areas used by Aéroports du Cameroun (ADC).
