Turnover: Wood Companies Beat Agribusinesses in Cameroon

(Business in Cameroon) - According to a survey carried out in 750 companies, and recently published by National Institute of Statistics (INS) in Yaoundé, and cited by the State-owned daily Cameroon Tribune, the wood industry pulled in more than agro-industrial companies in the last two years.

The survey, also points out other significant gaps in the activities of these companies. Revenue of Cameroonian companies, according to the survey increased from 10,225 billion in 2009 to 11,737 billion francs CFA in 2011 - more than 1500 billion CFA francs in 2 years.

On the profile of the entrepreneurs, the survey reveals that only 2.5% of entrepreneurs in Cameroon never attended school, while 90% have at least the advanced level, and more than 56 % have a Master's degree or beyond.
