(Business in Cameroon) - In Q2, 2019, the cost index of basic products exported by CEMAC countries rose by 3.9%, the BEAC reveals. In Q1, that same index recorded a 6.2% drop.
According to BEAC, this increase in the index is due to a rise in the price of energy (+4.5%), agriculture (+3.3%) and fishing (+2.4%) products.
The central bank, BEAC, explains that the basic products’ composite index is based on the price of 28 raw materials exported by CEMAC countries. These products represent 90% of the community’s exports.
